Treatment

Treatment is the management and care of a patient suffering from an addiction, in order to reduce or eliminate the adverse effects of the disease upon the patient. It is important to know that no single treatment approach is appropriate for all individuals, and that sustained recovery may require multiple courses of treatment with multiple approaches, as is true for other illnesses or diseases.

Please note that preference for access to an assessment and for treatment occurs in this order: Pregnant intravenous drug users; pregnant illicit drug users; intravenous drug users; all other drug users. (Drug use includes alcohol and tobacco).

If you are a Pennsylvania resident but live outside of Lycoming and Clinton Counties, contact your County’s Drug and Alcohol Office to find treatment information and services within your area. If you are not a Pennsylvania resident, SAMHSA can assist you in finding a Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and treatment information.
